SPEAGSEMCAD X Workshop

Get a Grip on the Problem:
Interactive Design and Advanced Antenna Applications using SEMCAD X

Date & Time: Thursday 14th April 2011, from 14.00 to 16.30
Venue: EurCongressi, Room G2
Cost: the workshop is provided at no cost
Catering: coffee/drinks and sweets/sandwiches will be provided for free
Material: material and CDs will be handed out during the workshop

SPEAG is pleased to invite all EuCAP participants to a workshop on computing highly complex antenna systems using the Simulation Platform SEMCAD X.

Agenda/Topics (Presentations, Live Demos, Interactive Workshop):

  • Latest SEMCAD X features and advances in Computational Electromagnetics
  • Human hand and mobile phone/antenna interaction
  • High Performance Computing for antenna design/optimization
  • Implantable antennas and body phantoms
  • Recent antennas/systems used in BioEM applications, dosimetry and compliance

Several internationally renowned guest speakers and research groups will present their simulation results and experience. In addition, our SPEAG experts will give an overview of features, current and future development activities and, moreover, assist in providing insights and tricks (hands-on) regarding the operation and use of SEMCAD X and antenna related applications.

Please find more information as well as an overview of the highlighted workshop presentations and speakers at
http://www.speag.com/news-events/events/workshops/eucap-2011/.

Limited seating is available, registration is required and will be handled on a first come first serve basis.

CARE2

CARE Workshop

Coordinating the Antenna Research in Europe

Starting from the results achieved by the ACE Network of Excellence, the CARE project will continue and reinforce the collaboration among the European Institutions involved in antenna research, with a specific emphasis on focus on the New Member States.

CARE will reinforce the collaborations among the European Institutions by:

   1) researchers secondments

   2) international workshops

   3) training courses

   4) dissemination, by conferences and Internet

CARE will also support the dissemination of the research results within the enlarged Europe, in close cooperation with the European Association on Antennas and Propagation (EurAAP).

In particular, CARE organises a Workshop on Wednesday 13th April 2011, joined with the EuCAP 2011. The workshop will be focused on presenting the project status and the future activities.

In this frame, you are welcome to the CARE workshop where you can be informed about the possibilities to take benefit from the CARE Project by sending or hosting students secondments funded by CARE.

Case history - simulation: 60 GHz Fully Active Phased Array Antenna On LTCC Multi Layered Technology

The Workshop will be held on Monday 11th April from 14.00 to 15.00.

ANSYSANSYS Workshop-2

A simulation environment for complex antenna systems

Ansys would like to invite you to a workshop on simulating complex antenna systems. During the workshop you will discover new capabilities of HFSS v13 through presentations and live demos.

Moreover, by coupling HFSS with System, Circuit and Thermal solvers Ansys Engineers will show you how to build a virtual prototype environment for a first pass system success.

The Workshop will be held on Tuesday 12th April from 14.00 to 17.00.

Agenda:

  • HFSS v13 Overview
  • FEBI: A new Hybrid Solver Technique
  • Maximizing Automation using Antenna Design Kit: Live Demo
  • Combining circuit, system and EM using Designer RF: Live Demo
  • Multiphysics Approach for Thermal/EM Cosimulation: Live Demo

EDXEDX Condensed Course

Electromagnetic Data Exchange Language Developer

The EDX team is proud to announce Electromagnetic Data Exchange Language Developer’s Condensed Course at EuCAP2011, organised by ESA and the EurAAP Software Working Group in cooperation with the European School of Antennas, held as part of the EurAAP Software Working Group Meeting in EUR Congressi, Wednesday 13th April 2011 at 15:30.

EDX is an advanced language designed to facilitate the exchange of data among electromagnetic modelling tools. EDX has already been adopted by several professional software developers. Two industrial corporations and a number of universities are evaluating the standard for integration in their software and the use of the language is strongly recommended by ESA and EURAP, who promote EDX as a reference for data exchange among antenna and EM software tools. Developers of such software from both industry and universities are encouraged to learn about its advantages and young researchers and engineers should give EDX attention as a way to improve their effectiveness in antenna developments.
